In 1895, on the same spot where the Belgrade City Hotel is today, HOTEL PETROGRAD was found, primarily to host passengers who arrived to the newly opened Main Railway Station. As Belgrade developed, and even the famous Orient Express had started to pass by, a modest building had to be replaced in 1912 by the elegant Neo-Renaissance palace by the famous Serbian architect Petar Popović. The building is now listed as a protected cultural monument.

IDEAL POSITION. The hotel is located in one of the most attractive locations in the city, in Savski Square, across the former Main train station (future Museum). In addition to square’s 23 m high monument, greenery and walking trails, there are numerous attractions in vicinity, as well as places for fun and shopping, especially along the Sava River. Great public transport connections also make it the perfect starting point to explore Belgrade.
